“Om Sainathaya Namaha”

This blog is trying to answer a query by a neighbour and a close friend of ours “How am I picking up the threads of my life post the challenges which I faced and mentioned in my earlier blog chapters.”

One thing that I have realized and come to terms with over the past few months is “There is and always was a plan in place by the Creator for conduct of affairs of my life.” I decided from thereon, “Let me not use my “Intelligent Brain” and waste time trying to figure out the best possible way to live.” So now, when I get up in the morning, I say my “Thank you” prayers to the Shri Sainath for all the past days and allowing me one more dawn in my life and go about doing things which any other normal human being does, attending to daily life situations to the best of my abilities without too much of “Planning ahead”.

An interesting analogy about human “Brain” and “A Computer”. Both follow the same principle “Garbage in Garbage out”. One uses the keyboard to punch in queries and the computer analyses the queries and spits out choices to the best of its abilities giving opportunity to select one of the choices and again ask for further analyses of this choice and the game continues…….this is similar to the thoughts we continue generating and feeding to our brain all day long and keep getting a selection of choices analyzed by the brain to continue playing our game of life…..

One day when I was undergoing treatment in Hyderabad, one of my close friend dropped in and he said something interesting that I would like to share with all of you. He said “Just close your eye for a few seconds and ask a question to your brain, hey what are you thinking about, what are your plans? You would experience a perfect pin drop silence, there would be no response at all.” I immediately tried and realized that this is actually what happens. Funny!! Isn’t it? This does prove one thing it is our thoughts which are prime movers of how we conduct our life affairs and if we allow our thoughts to be analyzed by our “Intelligent Brain” all the time we just end up swallowing precious time.

When I was told that a surgery is imminent, my thoughts started wandering all over and getting fed to the brain with my brain spitting out all sorts of ifs and buts making me jittery, scared and depressed, how will I arrange finances for the surgery? how will my expenses post surgery be taken care of? What will happen to my family when I am tied to the bed not able to move around? Who will take care of my daughters? And several such thoughts. However everything went like a clockwork, planned to the smallest detail by HIM. He put “Angels” in place to take care of all the above and much more. So, what was I trying to do with my thoughts and my “Intelligent Brain”?

Post my Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy, for almost a month I was only having liquids, not even making an attempt to start with some semi solid or solid food. My doctor was of the opinion that only my mind was stopping me from having solid food and there were no issues medically. This was so true, again my thoughts and my brain were playing with me and I was playing along. One fine day I just got immensely irritated and frustrated with my diet and attempted a change said a small prayer asking strength to allow me to eat and it worked. Now, when I eat or drink anything I just say a small prayer asking for enough strength to do so and it happens. The very simple learning here is give your thoughts and brain a little rest and just say a little prayer and do what needs to be done. God helps those who help themselves.

My takeaway from my recent experiences, you certainly need thoughts and brain to produce a light bulb, a steam engine, world peace, etc. however for one’s own and family well-being you only need Faith, Perseverance, Thank you prayers and Angels by your side

Will share some more thoughts in my next blog on how I continued to reinvent living…continue reading.

Thoughtful Life.
